Diana Research Group

DIANA Research Group at University of Malaga is a multidisciplinary group that, since 1999, aims at the study and development of HCI, and especially Virtual Reality (VR) interaction techniques. More specific, Reseach expertise and interest include:

  • VR Simulation for Training
  • 3D Interaction in Virtual Environments
  • Haptic Interaction
  • 3D audio spatialization
  • Natural Walking Navigation
  • Presence in VE
DIANA's activities take place in the VR & HCI laboratory at the Department of Electronic Technology, ETSI Telecomunicacion, at the University of Malaga. We have experience in several European research projects since 2004:
  • INTUITION (www.intuition-eunetwork.org, project which resulted in a network of excellence focused on virtual reality and virtual environments applications).
  • ManuVAR ( www.manuvar.eu), where we developed a training simulator for motor skills based on haptic virtual reality.
  • Use-it-Wisely (www.use-it-wisely.eu), where we developed a web-based 3D visualization tool for complex and hierarchically structured objects, applied for industrial products).
  • 3D-Tune-In (3d-tune-in.eu), where a 3D spatialization audio render engine is current being developed.
  • Pluggy (twitter.com/PLUGGY_Project), where a Social Networking platform for cultural heritage is current being developed.
